FrostSeal Outdoor Faucet Cover

FrostSeal Outdoor Faucet Cover

A closed sack, not an open wrap.

  • ✅ No open end — the one gap that makes cheap covers useless
  • ✅ Stays dry inside, so it's still insulating on night four
  • ✅ Holds through a January wind, not a loop that slips off
  • ✅ Two covers — front spigot and back, on in a minute each

Does it fit my outdoor faucet?

Measure first. It fits standard hose bibs up to 7.9 in long and 5.5 in across. If yours has a tall brass backflow valve on top, this won't go over it — send us a photo before you order and we'll tell you straight.

Is it easy to install?

Yes — about a minute per faucet. Slide it over the spigot, pull the strap snug behind the spout, and you're done. No tools. In spring, take them off, let them dry fully, and store them for next year.

Will this stop my pipes from freezing?

Not on its own, and we won't pretend otherwise. Insulation slows heat loss, it doesn't add heat. What this does is hold a dry, closed pocket of still air around the faucet. Disconnect the hose and drain the line first — that pair does the heavy lifting, and the cover protects the result.

WATERPROOF, NOT WATER-RESISTANT

Water beads on this shell and rolls off — test it at the kitchen sink the day it arrives. Most covers in this category use a lighter fabric with a water-resistant finish that wets out in a long freezing rain. Wet insulation is useless insulation, so the shell isn't a styling choice. It's what decides whether the cover still works on night four.

INSULATION THAT'S STILL WORKING IN MARCH

Insulation works by holding still air in place, so what matters is loft that lasts. Ours is a deep polyester fill kept dry by the waterproof shell. A soaked fill compresses, stops insulating, and never recovers — that's how a cover ends up useless by January while still looking fine from the driveway.

IT CLOSES. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT.

A plumber put it bluntly on a trade forum: wrap-around covers are a joke, because the end stays exposed. Heat moves toward cold, and an opening is where it goes. This one is sewn shut on every side but the one the faucet goes through, and a wide hook-and-loop strap closes that behind the spout. No tools, about a minute per faucet.

MADE FOR STANDARD HOSE BIBS

Measure before you order — we'd rather lose a sale than have one come back. It fits standard hose bibs up to 7.9 in long and 5.5 in across, which is most American homes. If your spigot has a tall brass backflow valve on top, this isn't the one for you: it won't go over it, and we'd rather you knew now than in January. Not sure which you have? Send us a photo and we'll tell you straight.

A Cover Is Step Three, Not Step One

Here's something you won't read on a page selling faucet covers: a cover alone can still let a pipe freeze. Insulation slows heat loss, it doesn't add heat. So do all three steps, not just the one we sell. 1. DISCONNECT THE HOSE: a hose left attached stops the faucet draining, and plumbers and insurers both call that the leading cause of frost-free faucet failures. 2. SHUT THE INDOOR VALVE and drain the line, then leave the faucet open for the winter. 3. THEN COVER IT: now it's protecting an empty faucet instead of a full one, which is when it does the most good.

Yes — these are built for several winters. Take them off in spring, let them dry completely, and store them inside. Putting them away damp is the one thing that shortens their life.

The shell is a coated polyester Oxford that sheds water instead of soaking it up, and the strap is stitched in rather than glued on. That matters more than it sounds: a cover that wets through stops insulating, and a strap that lets go leaves the faucet bare on the night it counts.

Less than you'd think. It's matte black, so it reads as trim shadow rather than something wrapped in a towel. We went black on purpose: pale covers show every splash of mud and road salt by December, and by February they make a house look like it's under repair.

It's held by a wide hook-and-loop strap around the gathered neck, not a hanging loop. The loop is the part that stretches out and lets a foam dome end up in the flowerbed. Pull the strap snug behind the faucet and it stays where you put it.

It fits standard hose bibs up to 7.9 in long and 5.5 in across — the common spigot that sticks straight out of the wall. It will not go over a tall brass backflow valve, and it isn't made for yard hydrants. Measure yours first, or send us a photo and we'll tell you straight.

Because a four-pack is built down to a price, and the first things cut are the shell and the shape. You get open-ended wraps in a thin water-resistant fabric — the two things that make a cover stop working in exactly the weather you bought it for. We'd rather sell you covers that stay closed and stay dry than four that only look like protection in October.

No More Worrying About Burst Pipes in Winter!

Affordable, Reusable, and a Cold-Weather Must-Have! These outdoor faucet covers are a simple but effective solution for winter freeze protection. The insulated lining helps keep outdoor spigots protected from cold air, and the waterproof exterior holds up well against snow and rain. They fit securely over standard faucets and are easy to put on and take off. I like that they're reusable, well-sized, and come as a 2-pack, which is perfect for covering multiple outdoor taps. A small investment that can help prevent costly winter pipe damage. Tip: Install the covers before the first hard freeze and make sure they're snug around the faucet for best insulation.

Super Easy to Use and Install, Thick Insulation that Fits Nicely Around Any Faucet

These faucet covers came in a little plastic ziplock type bag. They are heavier than I anticipated they would be but that is good! They seem to be well made and are a cinch to just slide over the faucet and use the velcro strip to cinch them closed and keep them right up against the foundation. My faucets aren't that big but there is plenty of room for a bigger faucet inside of this bag. It is very pliable and easy to manipulate and takes literally seconds to put on the faucet. The one suggestion that I could make for these is to make a strap to hang them on the faucet during those times in winter when you take them off and put them back on.

Easy to install and works great

This outdoor faucet cover was much easier to install than my old styrofoam one that had a hook and wing nut to tighten. The reflective tape seems unnecessary but it's a nice touch. The Velcro seems secure. Easy peasy.

Snug insulated protection for hose bibs

Tight and secure fit, tested with a 14 degree cold snap with wind chills to 6 degrees overnight. I recommend these highly. Reflective band makes for an easy find at night.

    Insulates down to negative temperatures

We have an outdoor tall spigot to supply our ducks with water. The spigot had been freezing in 20 degree weather despite using some insulation around it. This cover is amazing! It insulates well enough to keep the spigot handle from freezing down to -7 degrees Fahrenheit. We are having a very cold winter in Pennsylvania this year, and this cover has really helped. Highly recommend!

    Good winter protection

This is my 2nd year with these faucet covers. They stay on securely, they are easy to install and are very durable. The velcro straps make it easy to put on and take off the faucet.

Fabulous product, you will love it, very highly recommend.

Been using old kitchen towels and duct tape for 30+ years. Effective but a pain. These work perfectly, so easy on and off. And no waste. Absolutely LOVE this product and gonna tell everyone I know!

    Quality Thick Protection

Very well made product. It's a little bit early yet to put them on but almost there. When I do put them on, I have no doubt that they will save my pipes and you really can't beat the price for a pair.

    Winter Ready

Simple and easy to install, just removed the hoses and strapped the Velcro very tight. Haven't had much winter weather yet but it's thick and just as presented in the photo

    Simple and Functional.

The Velcro is a little harder to use than a pull string, but works just fine. The bag was plenty big for the faucet and seems well insulated.
